Tour Postponement

Hi folks,

As you may or may not know, I’ve had to postpone some of my tour dates due to a couple of reasons. Firstly I’ve been asked to take over the One Show from July for four days a week. This was too big an offer to turn down especially when thinking about the long term security of my family. I've kept Friday and Saturdays the same but Wednesdays & Thursdays have been moved to later in the run (This does not include Manchester Apollo, Hammersmith Apollo & Edinburgh Festival).

Gambling. Is it really that bad?

Hey,

Last week I won £500 on Manchester City beating Birmingham, I'm not a huge gambler, and as I've never really won any money before, I was well excited. It's been burning a hole in my pocket ever since. I just didn't know what to spend it on. Buying something for my girls felt a bit weird and the wife wasn't that bothered. So I thought, hey, why not donate it to some worthy causes.

Tour Previews for Charity

Happy Easter folks,

The tour starts properly in a couple of months but before that, I have a handful of previews to test out the jokes and stories to a live audience (as opposed to my family who are already bored!)

It's in pretty good shape, I've been doing a few new material nights at the Comedy Store in Manchester as well as a few over in Formby and Southport which have gone well, so really looking forward to starting.

The rest of 2009

Hi everyone,

I've not had chance to do a new blog lately, not had time and not had anything funny to say (not that it's stopped me before of course). I just wanted to let you know what I'm upto for the rest of the year, regarding live dates and telly, so you can come see me if you like.

The biggest thing I suppose this year is that I'm recording my first Live DVD in Manchester in September, it'll be out in November, but you can pre-order it here http://tinyurl.com/dmxng3 or http://tinyurl.com/c3h2oj.

Doing a gig for Manchester City.

I've just got back in from a weird old gig at Gods own club, Manchester City. It's an evening they have called 'Adopt a Player' which at first sounds like a charity and then you realise they're multi-millionaires so don't need adopting, although it did get me thinking it would be pretty cool to have one about the house (for the record I'd adopt Peter Crouch, "here Pete, you couldn't do that lightbulb for me" or "Hey Crouchy, can you clean the leaves out of the guttering, I haven't got a ladder").
